Cougars In Third After First Day Of Shocker Classic

WICHITA, Kan. - The Washington State University men's golf team is in third place after the first day of the Shocker Classic at the par-71, 6,671 yard Crestview Country Club South Course, Monday.

Jon Reehoorn, who posted a victory in his last tournament at the Duck Invitational, March 26, heads into tomorrow's final round in fourth place as the senior carded rounds of 71-70 to post a 36-hole total of 141 (-1). Reehoorn is seven strokes off the pace set by Texas-San Antonio's Gibby Martens and two strokes from Stephen F. Austin's Jason Alexander for second place.

Junior Dustin White and sophomore Isaac Woods completed the tournament's first day tied for 17th at 148 (+6). Senior Jeremy Taylor is tied fro 34th (152) and sophomore Ryan Camp sits in a tie for 55th position (156).

After two rounds, the Cougars are at 589, five strokes shy of Wyoming for second place. Texas-San Antonio leads the tournament after the first day with a two round total of 570.

The final 18 holes are scheduled to begin with a shotgun start at 9 a.m., Central Time, Tuesday.
