Cougars Record Second Place Finish At Bearkat Classic

MONTGOMERY, Texas - A quartet of Washington State players finished in the top-25 as the Cougar men's golf team posted a second place finish at the Bearkat Classic at the par 72, 6,994 yard Bentwater Country Club, Tuesday.

The Cougars, ranked No. 18 by Golfstat, ended the tournament at 870, three shots back of champion Arkansas-Little Rock.

Junior Dustin White secured his third consecutive top-four effort with a fourth place finish. White, ranked No. 12 in the Golfstat Cup standings, shot a two-under 214 to finish four shots back of tournament champion Yasin Ali of Oklahoma City.

Not far behind was sophomore Isaac Woods, who posted his third straight top-10 effort of the spring by finishing in a tie for sixth. Woods entered the final round in a tie for 20th, but shot up 14 places in the standings with a career-best 68 (-4) over the final 18 holes.

Senior Jeremy Taylor continued his consistent play with his third top-15 effort of the spring. Taylor posted an even-par 72 in the final round to finish in a tie for 11th at 218 (+2).

By finishing in a tie for 25th, senior Jon Reehoorn recorded his sixth consecutive top-25 finish this season and sophomore Ryan Camp ended the tournament in a tie for 29th.

Rounding out the Cougars were freshman Cameron Chesnut (232, +16) and seniors Steven Bowles (233, +17) and Roger Flynn (241, +25), who all competed as individuals.

The Cougars return to action, March 25-26 at the Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore.
