MONTGOMERY, Texas - The Washington State men's golf team is two-thirds of the way from securing its third consecutive tournament triumph.

Through two rounds of the Bearkat Classic at the par 72, 5,983 yard Bentwater Country Club, WSU has posted a 36-hole total of 580, two-strokes ahead of host Sam Houston State.

The Cougars, who entered the tournament ranked No. 18 in the nation by Golfstat, find themselves in the lead due to the fact that all five members of the team secured spots in the top 26 places.

Junior Dustin White, who is ranked No. 12 by Golfstat, leads the quintet. Playing in his first tournament after posting his initial collegiate victory at the Coastal Carolina Invitational, March 5, White enters tomorrow's final round in third place, two shots off the pace set by Oklahoma State's Yasin Ali and Sam Houston State's Shaun Goodwin (139, -5). White carded rounds of 68 and 73 to finish with a 36-hole total of 141 (-3).

Senior Jeremy Taylor is in a tie for 12th after turning in a two-round total of 146 (+2) while senior Jon Reehoorn enters the final round in a tie for 16th position at three-over par 147.

Sophomore Isaac Woods, who has posted two consecutive top-10 finishes this spring, sits in a tie for 20th place at four-over 148 while sophomore Ryan Camp is tied for 26th at 149 (+5).

Rounding out the Cougars are freshman Cameron Chesnut (154) and seniors Steven Bowles (157) and Roger Flynn (161), who are all competing as individuals.
