LONG BEACH, Calif. --- Washington State junior Jon Reehoorn fired a 67 on Tuesday to help the Cougars charge four spots up the leader board and finish eighth at the 49er Collegiate Classic.
Reehoorn's 67 was the best score of the day and WSU's team total of 289 tied for the best overall round. Reehoorn tied for fourth, two strokes behind Troy McKinley of Pacific. McKinley won the tournament on the second playoff hole.
Washington State also got solid performances on Tuesday from Jeremy Taylor, Roger Flynn, and Isaac Woods. All three Cougars carded third round 74s. Taylor placed 30th with a 54-hole 224, while Flynn finished three spots back in 34th.
San Diego overcame host Long Beach State in the 4th playoff hole to take the team medal. UC-Irvine finished third, one stroke behind the San Diego and Long Beach State.
The 49er Collegiate Classic was the final fall tournament for WSU.
