McBride Named Pac-12 Track Athlete of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Washington State sophomore André McBride was named the Pac-12 Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 7-13, the conference office announced Tuesday.
McBride, a sophomore from San Leandro, Calif., ran lifetime-best times in the 100m and 200m dashes Sat., April 12, at the Jim Click Shootout in Tucson. McBride’s 100m time was 10.42w (currently 18th in the NCAA West Region and fifth-best in Pac-12) and his 200m time was 21.03w (23rd-best in the NCAA West Region and seventh-best in Pac-12). McBride also ran the second leg of the men’s 400m relay with a season-best time of 40.64 in a runner-up finish.
WSU won the Shootout men’s team title with 193 points, easily surpassing No. 17 Arizona’s 133 points and well-beyond Air Force with 99 points, Kansas State with 98 points, and New Mexico’s 76 points.
