Thirty-four on MPSF T&F All-Academic Teams

WOODLAND, Calif. -- Thirty-four Washington State University student-athletes have been named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation 2014 Indoor Track & Field All-Academic Scholar-Athlete teams Executive Director Al Beaird, announced Friday. The criteria for selection includes: 3.00 or better cumulative GPA, be at least a sophomore academically, completed one full academic year at the institution prior to nomination, and must have competed in fifty percent of more of the institution’s competition.

Fourteen Cougar men earned the academic honors: Matthew Swanson (3.95 GPA, redshirt freshman, 800m, North Vancouver, British Columbia), Thane Pierson (3.83 GPA, sophomore, high jump, Naches, Wash.), Kyle Farmer (3.71 GPA, redshirt freshman, 60m, Issaquah, Wash.), Forrest Shaffer (3.54 GPA, junior, 3000m, Petaluma, Calif.), Andrew Kimpel (3.47 GPA, redshirt senior, 5000m, Spokane), Matt Wardell (3.46 GPA, junior, shot put, Post Falls, Idaho), Drew Jordan (3.40 GPA, senior, 5000m, Medford, Ore.), Sam Wardell (3.39 GPA, sophomore, weight throw, Post Falls, Idaho), John Brenteson (3.38 GPA, senior, pole vault, Vancouver, Wash.), Todd Wakefield (3.37 GPA, senior, mile, Kearns, Australia), Grant Schultz (3.31 GPA, redshirt junior, high jump, Davenport, Wash.), Andrew Gonzales (3.16 GPA, senior, 5000m, Kennewick, Wash.), Jacob Sealby (3.10 GPA, redshirt junior, 400m, Wenatchee, Wash.), and Lucas Sealby (3.07 GPA, redshirt junior, 400m, Wenatchee, Wash.).

Twenty WSU women were named to the MPSF All-Academic team: Ruby Roberts (3.97 GPA, senior, 3000m, Kingston, Wash.), Summer Cull (3.93 GPA, junior, pole vault, Marysville, Wash.), Dominique Keel (3.90 GPA, sophomore, 60m/200m, Beaverton, Ore.), Holly Parent (3.87 GPA, redshirt senior, high jump, Victoria, British Columbia), Kristine Felix (3.82 GPA, sophomore, pole vault, Wailuku, Hawai’i), Abby Regan (3.76 GPA, junior, mile, Coonamble, NSW, Australia), Korinne Zoellick (3.73 GPA, sophomore, pole vault, Bothell, Wash.), Charlotte Muschamp (3.68 GPA, redshirt junior, triple jump, Edendale, New Zealand), Andrea Smith (3.59 GPA, junior, 60m hurdles, Kennewick, Wash.), Essence White (3.56 GPA, sophomore, long jump, Tracy, Calif.), Kelsey Bueno (3.43 GPA, senior, pole vault, Kent, Wash.), Christiana Ekelem (3.43 GPA, sophomore, 400m/200m, Etiwanda, Calif.), Erin Allen (3.42 GPA, junior, 400m, Kenmore, Wash.), Amanda Henderson (3.30 GPA, sophomore, 800m, Pullman, Wash.), Audrey Ketcham (3.30 GPA, sophomore, high jump, Wenatchee, Wash.), Katie Dean (31.5 GPA, sophomore, long jump, Vancouver, Wash.), Zoe Moller (3.13 GPA, redshirt sophomore, long jump, Bellingham, Wash.), Abby Knight (3.09 GPA, sophomore, 3000m, Vancouver, Wash.), Kiah Condos (3.07 GPA, sophomore, 5000m, Liberty Lake, Wash.), and Bree Winfrey (3.02 GPA, junior, 400m, Mission Hills, Calif.).
