COUGARS COMPETE AT JIM CLICK SHOOTOUT, SCC WAR VII MEETS
Members of the Washington State track and field teams will be competing in Tucson and Spokane this weekend...there will be 60 Cougars competing at the University of Arizona’s Jim Click Shootout, Saturday, April 12, at Roy P. Drachman Stadium in Tucson...men’s and women’s teams from host Arizona (nationally ranked No. 17 men/No.11 women), the Air Force Academy, Kansas State and New Mexico will via for a title using NCAA 5-team scoring (10-8-6-4-2-1 and 10-8-6-4-2 for relays)...16 Cougars will compete at the Spokane Community Colleges WAR VII meet Saturday, April 12, at Spokane Falls CC...results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com at the conclusion of each meet.
ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 41st season with the Cougar track program; 20th year as a head coach, 19th year as mentor to the combined men’s and women’s program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)…volunteers include Caroline Austin (distance), Veronica Elseroad-Wall (hurdles), Oliver Henry (throws), and Emma Kertesz (distance).
WSU TRACK & FIELD REUNION MAY 16-18
All Washington State University track and field former student-athletes are invited to a commemorative reunion and celebration in honor of Head Coach Rick Sloan’s 40 years with the Cougars program. The Reunion and Celebration will be held in conjunction with WSU hosting the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships at the Mooberry Track Complex May 16-18, 2014. WSU HOSTS 2014 PAC-12 TRACK & FIELD OUTDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
Washington State University hosts the 29th Annual Women’s and 84th Annual Men’s Pac-12 Conference Track and Field Championships at the Mooberry Track Complex in Pullman. The Combined Events Championships are Saturday and Sunday, May 10 and 11, while the individual events and team scoring continues the next weekend, May 17 and 18. More information about the conference meet can be found at wsucougars.com and tickets may be purchased online. The meet will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks on a tape-delayed basis the following week.
