COUGARS TRACK & FIELD COMPETES IN ALBUQUERQUE AND SEATTLE
The Washington State University indoor track and field teams split up for two high-level competitions the weekend of Feb. 14 and 15...Cougar sprinters and jumpers compete at the University of New Mexico Don Kirby Elite Invitational, held at the Albuquerque Convention Center, the site of the 2014 NCAA DI Indoor Championships March 14-15...in addition to collegiate competition there will be Olympic Development events...a limited number of competitors from all events will be at the Husky Classic, at the Dempsey Indoor Facility in Seattle...complete results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com following the completion of each meet.
ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 41st season with the Cougar track program; 20th year as a head coach, 19th year as mentor to the combined men’s and women’s program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)…volunteers include Caroline Austin (distance), Veronica Elseroad-Wall (hurdles), Oliver Henry (throws), and Emma Kertesz (distance).

All Washington State University track and field former student-athletes are invited to a commemorative reunion and celebration in honor of Head Coach Rick Sloan’s 40 years with the Cougars program. The Reunion and Celebration will be held in conjunction with WSU hosting the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships at the Mooberry Track Complex May 16-18, 2014.
