1999...Broke two school records in the 400 IM and 800 freestyle relay at Pac-10 Championships...ranked first on all-time top ten list in both IM events...Holds a total of three school records...second all-time in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:03.54 set at Pac-10s...finished 14th in the consolation finals of the 400 IM with a time of 4:27.29 marking a lifetime best in the event...erased one of the oldest records in the 800 freestyle relay with a 7:35.79...named to Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention...1998...Set two school records in the 200 and 400 IM...finished 20th in 200 backstroke, 23rd in 400 IM, and 24th in the 200 IM at Pac-10 Championships...Her time of 2:06.85 deleted a five-year-old record in the 200 IM...received Coaches Award for all-around excellence in academics and athletics...named to Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention...1997...captured season best times in several events at the Husky Invitational...finished 16th in the 200 IM in a time of 2:10.39...finished 10th in the 400 IM with a 4:32.17 and 13th in the 200 backstroke with a 2:06.64.

In 1992 and 1996, Miedema attended the South African Olympic Trials...in 1994 she trained with the Hungarian National Team...member of the South African Schools team...received Westerford's Honors Award in swimming all four years of high school...competed for the Vineyard Swim Club.
