PULLMAN, Wash.

The WSU women's swim team competed in the Snake River Challenge on Labor Day. The event is an annual competition including a 2.2 mile swim in the Snake River followed by a 2.2 mile run.

Senior McKenzie Reiter won the entire event with a time of 60:51. Senior Lina Daugvilaite posted the second fastest overall time in 60:59 and junior Kristin Marceau took third with an overall time of 63:21.

Freshman Sierra Burton made her mark by finishing up the swim portion of the endurance event in 44.25. Daugvilaite was second in the swim with a time of 44:40 and junior Elyse Peterson was third out of the water in 45:00 flat.

Reiter also was the fastest in the run, ticking off the 2.2 miles in 15:46. Daugvilaite captured another second place by coming in behind Reiter with a run of 16:19. Marceau was third in the run with a time of 17:31.Sophomore Michaela Ahlin was only able to participate in the run and finished the second portion of the event in 16:15.
