MOSCOW, Idaho - The Washington State swim team squared off against the University of Idaho for the fourth time this season after the Vandals stepped in last week when Oregon State canceled. The Cougars won the meet 139-49 and boosted their season's dual meet record to 5-1.
Sophomore Michaela Ahlin headlined the Cougars effort with two individual wins in the 200 IM (2:08.64) and the 100 butterfly (57.24). Ahlin also anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:38.69).
Freshman Talor Whitaker also picked up two individual wins in the freestyle events, touching first in the 50 free (24.35) and the 100 free (52.78).
Other individual winners for the Cougars were senior Lina Daugvilaite in the 1000 free (10:36.01), freshmen Sierra Burton in the 200 free (1:54.48) and Rugile Mileisyte in the 100 back (57.16) and junior Elyse Peterson in the 100 breast (1:04.07).
WSU also won the 200 medley relay (1:48.60).
The Cougars will head across the state next week to compete against Washington Feb. 16 at 11:00 a.m.
