WASHINGTON STATE AT CENTRAL WASHINGTON: The Washington State University women's swim team heads to Ellensburg to take on Central Washington...the two teams will face off in a dual meet Saturday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m.
The Wildcats have a record of 3-1 with their first win coming Saturday over Puget Sound...Central has dropped two meets to Simon Fraser and one to Seattle...CWU competes against Whitworth at home Friday, Nov. 15.
"We are looking forward to our trip to Central this weekend," WSU Head Coach Erica Quam said. "We haven't gone there in a couple years. It looks like it will be a good trip for our team."
LAST WEEK: WSU comes into the meet against CWU with a 2-0 record in dual meets...Washington State defeated Cal-State Northridge in a relay meet Friday and a dual meet Saturday.
The Cougars pulled out a close win in the relay meet...WSU jumped out to a 78-54 lead after four events, but a disqualification in the 400 yard medley relay served costly for the Cougars...Cal-State Northridge tied the meet at 78 after that event...the Cougs entered the final event down by four (96-92), but were able to outscore the Matadors 22-16 in the 200 freestyle relay to grab a two-point victory.
WSU beat Cal-State Northridge 110-93 in the dual meet Saturday...the win came in a team effort as five different swimmers for the Cougars picked up individual victories.
COACH QUAM: Erica Quam has a dual meet record of 2-0 with the WSU women's swim team in her first year as head coach...Quam spent the past five years as an assistant at Southern Methodist University.
NEXT WEEK: Washington State returns home Friday Nov. 22 to take on cross-state rival Washington in a dual meet beginning at 7 p.m.
