Henahan Finishes NCAA Championships

AUBURN, Ala. -- - Lindsay Henahan ended her swimming career at Washington State University at the third and final day of the 2003 NCAA Women's Swimming Championships with a 68th-place finish in the 100 freestyle Saturday.

Henahan,, a senior from Rochester, N.Y., posted a time of 51.41 in the 100 freestyle, an event she qualified for by meeting the B standard time.

Friday Henahan reached All-American status in the 100 butterfly, finishing 16th at the NCAA Championships. She missed her race Thursday, the 50 freestyle, after being stranded in Denver for nearly 62 hours by a snowstorm. Henahan trained in a local hotel with a swimsuit she purchased from the gift shop. She finished 15th in the preliminaries and went on to place 16th in the finalso.

Freshman Jane Copland will compete in the U.S. Nationals the first week of April.
