FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Washington State swimmer Erin McCleave finished 11th in the women's 200m freestyle during day two of the 2006 U.S. National Spring Championships held at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.

A native of Rutherlen, Australia, McCleave posted a time of 2:04.44 in the preliminaries. The time was 10th fastest and qualified her for the "B" Final. She finished third in the evening race with a lifetime best 2:03.76 to account for her 11th place finish.

Other Cougar swimmers competing Wednesday included Kayli Changstrom and Kenzie Reiter in the 400m individual medley. Changstrom finished 40th in a time of 5:05.52 and Reiter's 5:23.75 was 72nd.

Competition continues Friday, March 31. Cougar swimmers in action include McCleave in the 400m freestyle and Monika Povilonyte in the 100m breaststroke.

The meet concludes Saturday. WSU will have entries in the 1550m freestyle, 200m individual medley and 400m medley relay. For live results, visit www.usaswimming.org.
