Rugile Mileisyte Opens Competition at the World Univeristy Games

BELGRADE, Serbia - Washington State University swimmer Rugile Mileisyte competed in the 100 freestyle at the World University Games, Monday.

A rising junior, Mileisyte finished fourth in her heat and 23rd overall with a time of 57.21 while competing for her native country, Lithuania. She was 2.06 seconds behind Alice Mills of Australia, who posted the best time in the preliminary heats, and missed the cut for the semifinals by 0.44 seconds.

Mileisyte, as well as rising senior Michaela Ahlin (Tyreso, Sweden) are scheduled to compete in seven events combined before the end of the competition, July 11.
