This Week: The Washington State University swim team will be back in action when it takes on Northern Arizona, Friday, Nov. 12...the meet will be held at Gibb Pool with events beginning at 5 p.m.
Cougar Catch-Up: WSU is 4-0 this season in dual meets after notching victories over New Mexico State and Fresno State last weekend...senior Talor Whitaker led the Cougars at both meets, notching four individual wins through two days of racing.
WSU Last Season: The Cougars went 2-4 last season with wins against Northern Arizona and Seattle...the team finished the season with 11 WSU all-time top-10 performances and set two school records...senior Michaela Ahlin represented the Cougars at the NCAA Championships for the second-consecutive year.
2010-11 Outlook: The squad returns 14 letter winners including seniors Jennifer Dean, Rugile Mileisyte and Talor Whitaker...the trio of senior leaders hold three individual school records, contributed to five relay records and 13 spots on the Cougars' all-time top-10 lists...the team also welcomes nine newcomers this season.
Last Year Against Northern Arizona: After falling behind early, the Cougars won the last five events of the meet to finish with a 149-142 win in Flagstaff, Ariz...WSU was led by Talor Whitaker and Michaela Ahlin who each won two events...Ahlin's winning time in the 100 butterfly (1:03.52) was good enough to set a Wall Aquatic Center pool record.
Coaching Staff: Head coach Erica Quam is in her ninth season at WSU...under Quam the Cougars have set 19 school records and earned 92 different spots on school's all-time top 10 lists...she is joined by assistant coach Lindsay Henahan and student assistant coach Jesse Grow...Henahan is in her third season while Grow is in his second.
