PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University women's swim team fared well after the sprint session of the meet against Idaho and Oregon State in Corvallis, Ore.

Kayli Changstrom led the Cougars with a second place finish in the 500 freestyle. Her time of 4:58.71 places her third on the Cougar all-time top ten list. She also finished fifth in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:08.54.

Erin McCleave finished fourth in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:59.13, which moves her into fifth on the Cougar all-time top ten list. McCleave finished fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.43.

Bryn Mooney captured a second place finish in the 100 butterfly with a mark of 57.14.

Overall in the 200 individual medley WSU placed three through six. McKenzie Reiter led the way with a time of 2:07.79. Jane Copland was fourth with a 2:07.86 and Maegan Wood sixth with a 2:09.88..

The 200 freestyle relay team of Katie Van Horne, Mooney, Monika Povilonyte and Backhouse finished second with a time of 1:41.20. The WSU team consisting of Danielle Berish, Beth Newhouse, Lina Daugvilaite and Reiter finished in fourth in the event with a mark of 1:41.20.

In the 400 medley relay WSU took second and third. The team comprised of McCleave, Mooney, Povilonyte and Van Horne swam a 3:54.67 for second place. Linsday Backhouse, Changstrom, Berish and Copland made up the third place team that swam a 4:00.44.

The meet continues January 29 in Corvallis, Ore., with the first session beginning at 10 a.m.
