Cougar Swimming Duo Named Pac-12 All-Academic First Team

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Shelbi Luchini and sophomore Alison Mand were named Pac-12 Conference All-Academic First Team, conference commissioner Larry Scott announced, Friday.

The duo heads a group of eight Cougars to earn conference honors. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Luchini was named to the first team for the third-consecutive season and owns a 3.80 GPA in international business. Mand, an undeclared major with a 3.91 GPA, earned first team selection in her first year of eligibility for the award.

Junior Emma Johansson earned second team selection with a 3.58 GPA (general medical science) following honorable mention recognition last year. Hayley Anderson, a sophomore with a 3.58 GPA as an undeclared major, was also awarded second team selection.

Senior Jenna Bekker (3.20/movement studies), juniors Kelly Tannhauser (3.14/education), Anne Kenney (3.12/movement studies) and Heather Morlan (3.00/math) each received honorable mention.
