THIS WEEK: Washington State plays at UCLA (Friday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m.) and at USC (Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.).

COUGARS NATIONALLY RANKED: Washington State is ranked nationally this week by the NSCAA (25th), and Soccer Buzz (28th)...first time this season the Cougars have been ranked...WSU was ranked for seven weeks in 2007.

ABOUT UCLA: The Bruins are 9-0-2...ranked third-nationally by Soccer Buzz and Soccer America and fourth in the nation by the NSCAA and Soccer Times...UCLA has not given up a goal in 978:03...Lauren Cheney leads the Bruins in goals (five), assists (five) and points (15).

SERIES WITH THE BRUINS: UCLA leads 11-2-2...Bruins are 6-1-1 against the Cougars at home and are unbeaten in the last seven such meetings.

ABOUT USC: The Women of Troy are 10-1-0...have won eight straight...ranked fifth-nationally by the NSCAA and Soccer America and sixth in the country by Soccer Buzz and Soccer Times...defending national champion is unbeaten in its last 17 at home.

SERIES WITH THE WOMEN OF TROY: USC leads 8-4-1, including 6-0-1 at home...Washington State has not scored in Los Angeles against the Women of Troy since the first meeting in 1995...teams played to a 0-0 draw at USC in 2006.

COUGARS IN PAC-10 OPENERS: Washington State has won its last two Pac-10 openers...in the 11 seasons all 10 conference schools have sponsored women's soccer, the Cougars are 5-6-0 in Pac-10 openers.

BALANCED ATTACK: This season, Washington State has had seven different student-athletes score at least one goal and a total of 10 student-athletes have registered a point...last season, the Cougars had five goal-scorers and nine student-athletes with at least one point.

GET YOUR NAME IN THE BOX SCORE: Sophomore Emma Stolz and freshman Ali Fenter each tallied the first goal of their respective collegiate careers in Washington State's 2-2 double-overtime tie at James Madison, Aug. 29...freshman Megan Chapin notched her first-collegiate point with an assist in the opener against Montana...Jacquelyn Roth picked up her first-collegiate point with an assist, Sept. 28 against Idaho...Tiara Pittman tallied her first-collegiate goal in a 3-1 win over Eastern Washington, Oct. 3.

THE POTTER EFFECT: Prior to Matt Potter's arrival in Pullman, the Cougars posted three-winning records in eight seasons as a member of the Pacific-10 Conference...under Potter, WSU has produced four-winning records in five seasons.

DALLSTREAM NAMED TO U-20 SQUAD: Cougar junior Kiersten Dallstream has been named to the United State Under-20 National Team that will compete at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, Nov. 19-Dec. 7...Dallstream ranks sixth in Cougar history with 16 goals and seventh with 40 points.
