Nicole Wilcox was named to the 2003 first team Academic All-District VIII University Women's Soccer Team Thursday, Nov. 6, posting a 3.89 GPA in communication.
"I take a lot of pride in academics," Wilcox said. "I've always tried to put as much effort in the classroom as I do on the soccer field because I know one day my goals and dreams will be different...I realize that it's my education not my athleticism that will help me in the real world."
"This is a reason to celebrate Nicole the person," WSU Head Soccer Coach Matt Potter said about Wilcox's honor. "Nicole continues to raise the bar with her dedication and hard work on and off the field.
"An acclaim for an individual who really epitomizes what it is to be a student-athletes; she deserves all the applause and more."
