PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State University women's soccer program hosted a banquet, Friday, Sept. 25 as part of its 20th Anniversary Season celebration.

The event brought together Cougars from past and present and raised $4,400 for the WSU soccer program. Among the speakers at the banquet were Marcia Saneholtz, a former WSU administrator for more than 20 years, Lisa Fraser, the first Cougar head women's soccer coach, and Lindsey Jorgensen, a former student-athlete and assistant coach for the WSU soccer team.

"This continues to be a very special season for us," WSU Head Women's Soccer Coach Matt Potter said. "We are very blessed to have the opportunity to bring together our current student-athletes and familes with people who have played a big role in the history of the program. The evening was a tremendous success and on behalf of our team, I want to thank all those who help plan the event or were able to join us in person."

While this year's banquet was a part of the 20th Anniversary Season celebration, Potter said the program plans to have an annual event to bring Cougars together for an evening and perhaps a weekend.

"As we move forward, we want to coninue to capture the spirit of Washington State University and Cougar soccer," Potter said. "Holding an annual event will continue to build the pride in our community and program."

Currently, WSU is 7-2-0 and riding a four-match winning streak into its meeting with No. 3 Porltand, Sunday in the Rose City.
