KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Washington State University soccer junior Brandi Vega and freshman Nicole Setterlund were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Pacific Region Second Team for 2011.

In addition, the Cougars received the NSCAA Team Academic Award for 2010-11, marking the sixth time in the last eight years Washington State has earned the honor. To be eligible, a program must have a team GPA of 3.0 or better during the academic year.

Vega, an All-Pac-12 First Team honoree, scored six goals, including three game-winners. She added five assists for 17 points. The game-winning goals and assists totals tied for the team lead while the goals and points were second on the squad.

A member of the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, Setterlund recorded two assists in a victory over Weber State and added a goal in Washington State's win against California. She is one of four freshmen among the 33 student-athletes named to the first, second or third team by the NSCAA.
