PULLMAN, Wash - The Washington State University women's soccer team will play in three spring tournaments, head coach Dan Tobias announced Monday.

The first day of competition for WSU will be Saturday, March 11 when the Cougars travel to Eugene, Ore., to take on the University of Oregon at 10 a.m. and a U-23 club team from Portland at 2 p.m.

The Cougars will return to the playing pitch nearly one month later when they compete in a tournament in the Tri-Cities. The April 8-9 games will be played either at the Pasco soccer complex or at Richland High School. WSU, Gonzaga, Eastern Washington and Central Washington will compete against club teams from Pasco, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and two teams from Lake Oswego, Ore.

The final tournament will be the second annual "7-a-side" Benefit Classic hosted by Washington State. The games, held April 29-30, will be played on Cougar Soccer Field, with teams and times to be determined.

NCAA rules will allow each team to participate in up to five competitions during the spring.

Washington State recently completed its winter conditioning and will begin practice today. Midfielders Jen Burrough (University Place, Wash.) and Natalie Kehl (Spokane, Wash.) will sit out the spring schedule to continue their rehabilitation from injuries. Burrough suffered a torn ACL during the season and Kehl is slowed by a stress fracture in her foot.
