WE BEAT MEXICO! It was the most intense and stressful game EVER. Okay...maybe not ever, but I was definitely sweating on the bench and not just because of the heat. I think you should take note on this next play Matt......straight off the kick off, Kara Lang shot the ball and scored. APPARENTLY, it's a CONCACAF record or something. We were up 1-0 after about five seconds! It was so exciting. We ended up beating them 3-2. There was one red card against us on Jodi-Ann Robinson right before half time and they had a goal called back in the last minute of play.
We now advance to the semifinals against Jamaica tomorrow. The US team beat them 4-1, so if we play our game I think we will definitely come out with a win and a guaranteed spot at the World Cup in Russia this summer. Anything can happen!!!
They gave us a day off today. We were supposed to go snorkeling in the morning but it got cancelled due to the weather. IT WAS RAINING!! I thought I was in Mexico :). I ended up taking a trip the aquarium in Veracruz. It was spectacular. There were sharks, manatees, turtles, sting rays, piranhas, and a bunch of really funny looking fish. After the aquarium, I spent the rest of the day with my brother Ezra who came from Monterrey, Mexico to watch a few games. It was nice to see him. We just finished a little team meeting and I am about to go play some cards.
I guess early morning practices are now starting in Pullman!! CAN'T WAIT TO GET BACK! ;)
See ya soon.
