GENATONE'S HIGH SCHOOL CAREER

Attended Kamiakin High, where he was coached by Craig Beverlin...lettered in football (three), wrestling (three) and track (four)...captained all three sports junior and senior year…as a JUNIOR recorded 16 sacks, which tied a school record...named to the All-Big 9 Conference team...placed third in the State wrestling meet at 190 pounds...during the spring, member of school record (42.1) 400m relay team that finished fourth in the State meet...SENIOR year named to the Associated Press, Washington Prep Report and Seattle PI All-State first teams...a Red Chip pick by the Seattle Times...named the Big 9’s defensive player of the year...a two-way all-league pick as a linebacker and running back...rushed for 934 yards...broke seven school records including career sack record with 32...made a school record 149 tackles...finished career first in tackles and third in rushing...selected to play in the East-West Shrine game…placed third in Washington’s 4A wrestling tournament at 215 pounds.

FRESHMAN (1999-00): Redshirt season…suffered a broken thumb in the first week of spring drills and did not participate for the final three weeks.

RS-FRESHMAN (2000-01): V-letter…Games - 11…Started - 1…played in all 11 games as a backup linebacker and special teams player…one start, stepping in against California when the Cougs lost two starters…finished with 11 tackles, including three at California…recovered one fumble against Boise State…had two tackles against Utah, Arizona and Washington.

RS-SOPHOMORE (2001-02): V-letter…Games - 11…Starts - 7…earned the following weekly team awards: OSU/Defensive Pursuit; MSU/Pac-10 Defense; ULA/Cougar Claw. ? Missed WSU’s opener with an MCL sprain in fall camp ? Took over for Alex Nguae after the latter suffered an ankle injury…made five starts for Nguae in the middle, beginning with the Arizona game, then moved outside and started the next two games for James Price ? Best games included 11 tackles against Montana State, with one TFL…in consecutive games against OSU, Stanford and MSU made 28 tackles ? In the UCLA game picked up a Fred Shavies forced fumble and returned it 73 yards for the deciding score…had seven tackles against the Bruins…recovered fumbles against UCLA and ASU
