PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State football continued spring practice with a two-hour workout in helmets and shoulder pads on Rogers Field and in Martin Stadium Tuesday afternoon.

The Cougars opened practice by working through their similar routine of individual position workouts, a series of 1-vs.-1 drill while the lines went against each other in the running game drill, 7-vs.-7, before covering kickoff return and wrapping up with 11-vs.-11 team.

Redshirt-senior quarterback Connor Halliday led the first series, connecting with sophomore wideout River Cracraft in stride for a big gain. The defense buckled down with a couple stops of redshirt-senior wide receiver Vince Mayle, who caught a couple short passes and was met by a linebacker. Following another long completion to Cracraft, Halliday rifled a throw to Mayle in traffic for another big gain as Mayle withstood a big pop from a safety and kept on heading down field. A couple plays later, Halliday rolled to his left and hit redshirt-junior Drew Loftus in the left corner of the end zone. The next play saw Halliday connect with redshirt-senior wideout Kristoff Williams for a short score but the defense ended the drive with a pass breakup in the end zone.

Redshirt-freshman quarterback Tyler Bruggman led the second series of the day, going up top for a long pass to redshirt-sophomore wideout Willie Roach who got behind a defender. Bruggman later hit redshirt-senior wide receiver Rickey Galvin in stride for a first down and he also connected with Cracraft in traffic for a big completion. Bruggman continued to spread the ball around, getting the ball out to redshirt-freshman running back Jamal Morrow who raced up the right sideline. The defense came back with a big hit by redshirt-freshman safety Darius Lemora on a reciever over the middle. Morrow scored on a short run a couple plays later and Bruggman tossed a touchdown to Loftus to end the day.

The Cougars will practice at 3 p.m. Thursday.
