Browner Tied For 16th After Second Day Of NCAA West Regional

STANFORD, Calif. - Washington State senior Tasha Browner is tied for 16th after two rounds of the NCAA West Regional at the par 72, 6,218 yard Stanford Golf Course, Friday.

Browner, who entered the day tied for 26th, carded a second round 75 to post a 151 total (+7) after 36 holes. Browner's second round featured one birdie, four bogies and 13 pars.

Freshman Kim Welch is tied for 47th with a two round total of 157 (+13) while freshman Jay-Lee Longbottom is at 164 (+20). Senior Jackie Stevens is at 165 (+21) and junior Donna Bell is at 173 (+29) through 36 holes.

The Cougars are tied for 15th with UC-Irvine with a two round total of 637. Pepperdine leads the team competition with a score of 592, three shots ahead of California and UCLA.

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa heads the individual leaderboard after turning in a second consecutive two-under par 70. Ochoa is a four under par through two rounds, three shots ahead of Pepperdine's Katherine Hull entering tomorrow's final round. Ochoa and Hull are the only two players able to break par in the 107-player field.

The top eight teams and two individuals will advance from the regional to the national championships, which will be held at Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash, May 21-24.
