STANFORD, Calif. --- Washington State junior Tasha Browner used a 74 on Saturday to propel both herself and her team to seventh place ties at the Peg Barnard California Collegiate.

Browner fired a six-over par 150 for the tournament, finishing in a tie with Stanford all-american Hilary Homeyer. Her effort helped the Cougars erase Nevada's five-stroke lead after the first round and finish in a tie with the Wolf Pack for seventh.

After a disappointing opening round at the par 72 Stanford Golf Course, Washington State's trio of underclassmen, Natalie Bratkowski, Emily De'Ath, and Shanelle Roberts, provided solid backup for Browner and senior Jennifer Dodd in the second round. De'Ath and Bratkowski shot 79's, while Roberts was one stroke back with an 80.

Jennifer Dodd racked up her 24th career top 25 finish at the Peg Barnard despite an 81 in the second round. The Portland, Ore., native tied for 25th with Stanford's Marcia Wallis with a 157.

Stanford took advantage of playing on their home course by blasting the next-closest team by 15 strokes. The Cardinal placed six players in the top 25 and carded a 595 over the two-day event. San Jose State was second place with a score of 610, while a third Bay Area school, California, finished third.

Despite the domination of the Bay Area teams, a Northwest player walked away with the individual medal. Oregon's Jerilyn White shot a 68 on Saturday to complete a dramatic come from behind victory. White was five strokes off the lead heading into the final day, and ended up winning by three strokes over Stanford's Stephanie Keever and San Jose State's Jessica Krantz.

The Peg Barnard California Collegiate was Washington State's final tune-up for the Pac-10 Championship, which will be held in Tempe, Ariz., at the Karsten Golf Course on Apr. 23-25.
