Cougar Women Move Up Two Spots in Final Day of Edean Ihlanfeldt Invite

SAMMAMISH, Wash. - Senior Brooke Henderson led the Washington State women's golf team to an 11th place finish, shooting a 5-over par 77 in the final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational, Wednesday.

The Cougar women combined for a final-round 302 and finished the three-day tournament with a score of 924 at the par-72, 6,127-yard Sahalee Country Club. The Cougars' third-round total was the sixth-best team score of the day.

Competing with a strong field, the Cougar women finished only three strokes out of the top 10. Pacific-10 Conference rivals Southern California, ranked No. 3 by Golfstat, Arizona State (No. 4) and Oregon took the top three places, respectively.

Henderson's three-day total of 229 was good for a tie at 28th and only one stroke back from cracking the top 25.

Senior Tracy Broders finished the tournament with a strong performance, carding an even par 72, the lowest round of the tournament for the Cougar squad. Broders finished the tournament with a three-round total of 231.

Junior Amy Eneroth posted a three-round total of 232, sophomore Diana Hong carded a total score of 235 and junior Jessica Black finished with 241 strokes to round out the Cougar scorers.

The Cougar women travel to Stanford, Calif., Oct. 19th, for the Pepsi Intercollegiate, their second to last tournament of the fall.
