Women's Golf in Second Place After First Day of Regional Preview

LINCOLN, Calif. - Led by a dominant performance from junior Amy Eneroth, the Washington State University women's golf team sits in second place Monday, after the first day of competition at the Regional Preview, hosted by Sacramento State.

The Cougars combined for a two-round total of 590 at the par-72, 5,819-yard Lincoln Hills Golf Club. Eneroth leads the tournament and put together a sub-par day to finish with a score of 139 (-5). Eneroth is one of only three golfers under par and carries a lead of four strokes heading into the final round.

Junior Jessica Black fired a 2-over par 146 and sits in a tie for eighth. Seniors Tracy Broders and Brooke Henderson both finished the first day of play with a score of 153. Sophomore Diana Hong carded a 156 to round out the Cougar contingent.

After the first round of competition, the Cougars sat in second place with a combined score of 297. Eneroth led the team heading into the second round as she produced the only sub-par performance with a 1-under 71. Black sat in the top five after the first round and carded an even-par 72.

The women begin final round action with a shotgun start at 8 a.m., Tuesday.
