PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State University Head Golf Coach Walt Williams announced the hiring of Kari Sampson as an assistant coach for the women's golf team, Thursday. Sampson graduated in 2000 from the University of Washington where she walked on and earned three letters competing for the Husky women's golf team. As an assistant for the Clarkston High School girls golf team the past four years, she coached five girls to the State tournament. In 1999 Sampson was an assistant at the NIKE/University of Washington golf camp in Seattle. She also served as the NIKE golf marketing research intern in 2000. As a student-athlete, Sampson was a representative on the Washington Student-Athlete Advisory Council (WSAAC), where she was involved in numerous community service opportunities. "I am full of perseverance, determination, patience, and passion when it comes to the game of golf, both as a competitor and an instructor," Sampson said. "Even though my alma mater is the UW, I am really looking forward to putting on some Crimson and Gray."
