TEMPE, Ariz. – Junior, Lindsay Harmon, led the way for the Cougars in the first round of the PING/ASU Invitational. The Washington State women’s golf team ended round one in 14th place (+13, 301) of the highly competitive field. Washington takes the top spot on day one (-4, 284), followed by host Arizona State in second (-1, 287), with South Carolina and Arizona sitting tied for third (E, 288).
Harmon finished round one in the top-25 landing T-12th on the leaderboard with a score of 72 (-1). Her performance in the first round was highlighted by four birdies.
Sophomore, Monica Huang, was the next highest finisher for the Cougars ending day one T-48 (+4, 76). Huang was just behind her teammate, Harmon, carding three birdies in the first round.
Washington State looks to move up the leaderboard on the second day of the tournament with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 5th, 2014.
