PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State rising-junior Nani Yanagi qualified for the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Championship.

The tournament will be held at the Warren Golf Course in Notre Dame, Ind., July 14-19.

Yanagi qualified with a par 73 at the Wailua Golf Course in Kauai, Hawaii. A native of Hilo, Hawaii, Yanagi won the 18-hole sectional qualifier to earn the only WAPL entry in the tournament.

The WAPL tournament began in 1977 and is a championship for female amateur golfers who play on public courses. The first-two rounds are stroke play. The top-64 players through two rounds advance to match play (18 holes) with the final being 36 holes. The event is being retired after 2014 by the United States Golfing Association.
