WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Charlotte Koning was named to the 2014 Pac-12 All-Academic Women's Tennis First Team while teammate Elizaveta Luzina was a second-team selection, Pac-12 Conference Commissioner Larry Scott announced Thursday.

Koning, a native of Kropswolde, The Netherlands, is a repeat selection on the conference all-academic team after garnering second-team honors last season. A psychology major, she carries a 3.88 grade point average into her senior season and is a member of the President's Honor Roll and WSU Athletics All-Academic team. This past season she battled through injury, posting a 7-11 singles record.

Luzina, from Moscow, Russia who recently completed her junior season, is making her second appearance on the conference all-academic team as she was an honorable mention selection last year. A fine arts major with a 3.74 GPA, Luzina posted a 29-10 record this past season while playing in the No. 1 singles position. The 2014 Northwest Region recipient of the ITA Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship, Luzina is also a member of the WSU All-Athletics team and President’s Honor Roll.

To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and be a starter or significant contributor.
