BELLEVUE, Wash. – Washington State lost 4-3 at Seattle, Monday in the Cougars’ final nonconference baseball game of the season.

Washington State (23-28) hosts Arizona State in a three-game Pac-12 series, Friday-Sunday to wrap up the 2014 campaign.

The Redhawks (26-25) scored three times in the bottom of the third against Cougar starter Sean Hartnett (2-1). Washington State responded with two runs in the fourth off Seattle reliever Andrew Olson (1-4). Ben Roberts led off with a single and moved to third on a one-out double by Ian Sagdal. Patrick McGrath followed with a pinch hit single to plate both runners.

Seattle picked up a run in the fourth against Washington State reliever Sam Triece to take a 4-2 lead and the scored remained that way until the ninth.

With one out, Trace Tam Sing and Collin Slaybaugh singled to put runners at the corners. Cameron Frost greeted Redhawk reliever Mac Acker with a sacrifice fly to pull the Cougars within a run at 4-3. Acker then fanned Yale Rosen with to record his second save.

The Cougars host the Sun Devils at 7 p.m., Friday.
