Linton Runs Impressive 10k Debut at Mt. SAC Relays

WALNUT, Calif. -- Washington State sophomore CharLee Linton ran the third-fastest 10,000-meters race in Cougar women’s history Thursday night during the Distance Carnival portion of the 56th Annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif.

Linton, from Shorewood, Wash., debuted in the 10k with a time of 35 minutes, 17.29 seconds for 13th place among the 39 mostly collegiate runners in the Women’s Silver Elite section.

In the Men’s Invite Elite 10k, redshirt senior Andrew Kimpel (Spokane) ran a time of 29:41.06, and senior Drew Jordan (Medford, Ore.) ran a time of 29:49.39, for 17th and 18th places out of 28 runners in this section.

Freshman John Whelan (Etna, Calif.) ran a time of 29:54.72 for ninth place out of 34 racers in the Men’s Olympic Development Elite 10k race.
