Cooks, a sophomore forward, earns her first career all-academic award after producing a 3.48 cumulative GPA while majoring in political science. The Santa Maria, Calif. native appeared in all 34 games and averaged 6.0 ppg, 4.4 rpg and scored in double figures six times.
Romberg, a senior forward, caps her Cougar career with her second Pac-12 All-Academic honor, also receiving honorable mention as a sophomore. Romberg owns a 3.06 cumulative GPA and is set to graduate in May with a degree in natural resources with a minor in Spanish. Romberg ended her WSU career as the program’s all-time leader in games played with 129 and with 1,033 points. This season, the McKinleyville, Calif. native started all 34 games and finished third on the team in scoring at 9.1 ppg and second in rebounding with 5.9 rpg and 34 blocks.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and either be a starter or a significant contributor.
