T&F Sends Limited Squad to Texas Relays

Coming off the pair of dual wins over UCLA March 22, in Los Angeles, the Washington State University track and field teams will send a limited number of members to Texas this week...decathlete Dino Dodig and heptathlete Alissa Brooks-Johnson will be among the 12 Cougars competing at the 87th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin...competitors from around the nation and the world from high school, collegiate and professional ranks...this year’s field has 640 high schools and 232 collegiate teams and 156 invitational athletes for a total of 6,552 athletes from 32 states and nine countries are expected to compete...Live Results are available at www.texassports.com...Longhorn Network will broadcast 17 hours of the meet...results will be posted at www.wsucougars.com when available.
ABOUT THE COUGAR COACHES
Head coach Rick Sloan is in his 41st season with the Cougar track program; 20th year as a head coach, 19th year as mentor to the combined men’s and women’s program...Sloan (decathlon/heptathlon) is joined by associate coach Debra Farwell (throws) and assistant coaches Mark Macdonald (hurdles/relays), Ellannee Richardson (sprints/relays), Matt McGee (jumps) and cross country coach Tim Riley (distance)…volunteers include Caroline Austin (distance), Veronica Elseroad-Wall (hurdles), Oliver Henry (throws), and Emma Kertesz (distance).
WSU TRACK & FIELD REUNION MAY 16-18
All Washington State University track and field former student-athletes are invited to a commemorative reunion and celebration in honor of Head Coach Rick Sloan’s 40 years with the Cougars program. The Reunion and Celebration will be held in conjunction with WSU hosting the Pac-12 Track & Field Championships at the Mooberry Track Complex May 16-18, 2014.
