Swimming Finishes Eighth at Pac-12 Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Washington State swimming team finished eighth at the 2014 Pac-12 Conference Swimming Championships.

The highest finish by a Cougar, Saturday was delivered by freshman Kendra Griffin in the 1650 freestyle. Griffin placed 15th with a time of 16:56.95. She also made the “C” Final in the 200 butterfly and finished 23rd in 2:02.30.

Sophomore Loree Olson earned a 20th-place finish in the 200 backstroke with an NCAA “B” Consideration 1:58.50.

Sophomores Presley Wetterstrom and Frederikke Hall quailed for the “B” and “C” finals, respectively in the 200 breaststroke. Wetterstrom finished 16th with a time of 2:19.43 while Hall turned in a 2:16.42 to place 21st.

Washington State earned 346 points in the meet. California captured the conference title.
