Eight Cougars Earn Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

PULLMAN, Wash. – Eight Washington State football student-athletes received Pac-12 Conference All-Academic accolades, the conference office announced Tuesday. To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

The Cougars had one first-team selection, one second-team selection and six student-athletes receive honorable mention.

Redshirt-junior wide receiver Kristoff Williams earned first team honors after posting a 3.65 GPA while majoring in criminal justice. Williams earns is third career academic honor after receiving all-academic honorable mention the past two years. The Antioch, Calif. native is third on the Cougars with 39 receptions for 375 yards.

Senior right tackle John Fullington received second team honors after producing a 3.25 GPA while majoring in movement studies. The Belfair, Wash. native has garnered All-Academic honorable mention in each of the past two seasons and has started 41 straight games including the last six games at right tackle.

Receiving honorable mention were; redshirt-senior center Elliott Bosch (3.25 GPA, Social Sciences), redshirt-senior offensive lineman Zach Brevick (3.28 GPA, Entrepreneurship), redshirt-senior linebacker Jared Byers (3.00 GPA, Mechanical Engineering), junior longsnapper Alex Den Bleyker (3.01 GPA, Undeclared), senior kicker Andrew Furney (3.26 GPA, Marketing), and sophomore safety Taylor Taliulu (3.03 GPA, Undeclared).  Furney earns his third career all-academic honor, Brevick receives his second after being named to the second team last season, Den Bleyker earns his second, while Bosch, Byers and Taliulu each garner their first career all-academic accolade.
