THIS WEEK

The Washington State soccer team (11-3-3, 4-3-1 Pac-12) entertains No. 21 California (9-3-5, 2-3-3 Pac-12) and No. 6 Stanford (12-3-1, 5-3-0 Pac-12, plays at Washington, Thursday)…match against Golden Bears is scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday with Sunday’s tilt with the Cardinal slated for 11 a.m., Sunday…live stats for both matches will be available at www.wsucougars.com...Sunday’s match will be televised by Pac-12 Networks with Rich Burk (play-by-play) and Tracey Bailey (color analyst) providing the commentary.

WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH KEIDANE McALPINE

Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine is in his second year at Washington State, and his seventh year overall as a head coach...McAlpine is 23-9-5 in Pullman and 63-57-16 overall…led Cougars to NCAA First Round in 2012, Washington State’s fourth postseason appearance in the last-five years.

WASHINGTON STATE RECEIVING VOTES

Cougars are receiving votes in the current Soccer Times top 25 poll…eighth week this season Washington State has been among those receiving votes from Soccer Times…also received votes in NSCAA top 25 for eight weeks in 2013.

SERIES AGAINST CALIFORNIA/STANFORD

Golden Bears lead 13-7-3…Cougars lead 6-4-1 in Pullman…Washington State has defeated California four-straight times at home with the Golden Bears nationally-ranked each time…California is No. 21 in the current NSCAA poll and No. 25 in the Soccer Times rankings…Stanford leads 19-2-1 and is 8-1-1 in Pullman…Cardinal is ranked sixth by Soccer America and seventh by the NSCAA and Soccer Times.

PAC-12 RACE

While UCLA leads the Pac-12 with 20 points, the next-five teams in the standings are separated by two points entering Thursday (three matches remaining)…Stanford’s 15 points are good for second with Utah one point back…Colorado, Washington and Washington State are tied for fourth with 13 points.
