Washington State soccer (7-0-2) opens Pac-12 play with a match at Oregon (2-4-2), Thursday at 7 p.m…match will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks with Ann Schatz (play-by-play) and Kyndra de St. Aubin (analyst) calling the action…live stats will be available at www.wsucougars.com and operated by Oregon.

WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH KEIDANE McALPINE

Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine is in his second year at Washington State, and his seventh year overall as a head coach...McAlpine is 19-6-4 in Pullman and 59-54-15 overall…led Cougars to NCAA First Round in 2012, Washington State’s fourth postseason appearance in the last-five years.

WASHINGTON STATE RECEIVING VOTES

Cougars are receiving votes in NSCAA poll (fifth-straight week) and in Soccer Times poll (second-straight week, fourth overall).

AMONG THE UNBEATENS

Washington State is undefeated through nine matches (7-0-2) for the first time in school history…Cougars are unbeaten in a school-record 13 matches, dating back to last season, second only to Baylor among active streaks nationally…Washington State is one of 10 Division I schools undefeated entering the week.

NATIONAL RANKINGS

Washington State is seventh in goals against average at 0.32...redshirt junior Gurveen Clair is 10th with a 0.34 GAA...senior forward Micaela Castain is tied for third with 24 points and her 10 goals are tied for fourth…both marks lead the Pac-12.

CLIMBING THE RECORD BOOK

Washington State senior forward Micaela Castain is third all-time at Washington State with 32 goals and fourth in Cougar history with 71 points…her 14 game-winning goals are second on Washington State’s career list…Castain’s goals have tied a match or given the Cougars the lead 20 times, tied for second in the Cougar record book…became the fourth student-athlete in Washington State history to score a goal in four-straight matches when she found the back of the net against UC Irvine, Sept. 22.

SERIES AGAINST OREGON

Washington State leads 9-4-4…Cougars hold a 4-1-3 advantage in Eugene…last year, Brandi Vega’s goal in the 37th minute provided the Cougars a 1-0 victory in Pullman.

ABOUT THE DUCKS

Oregon is 2-4-2 and has played every match at home this season…Ducks and Cougars have one common opponent this season in UC Irvine…Oregon lost 2-1 while Washington State won 4-0…three Ducks have each scored two goals to lead the team.

LAST WEEK
