PULLMAN, Wash. -- Ver’Leea Hardaway and Kyra Holt had a dozen kills each to pace the Washington State volleyball team (12-0) to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-20 win over Seattle University (2-12) in the second match of the Cougar Invitational Tournament at Bohler Gym.
Hardaway, a junior from Mission Viejo, Calif., hit .733 for the match with 12 kills, one error in 15 attacks. Holt, a freshman from Hercules, Calif., tallied three aces, four digs and two blocks in addition to her 12 kills. Camryn Irwin had 28 assists, three kills and hit .600. Tani Stephens added two aces.
The Redhawks were led by the six kills and six digs of Iris Ivanis and the three blocks by Allison Farley. Seattle hit .120 for the match while WSU hit .418 but the visitors out-blocked the home team four to three.
WSU plays Nevada (2-7 pending afternoon match against Idaho) at 7 p.m. Friday night in Bohler Gym.
