WASHINGTON STATE HEAD COACH KEIDANE McALPINE

Cougar Head Coach Keidane McAlpine is in his second year at Washington State, and his seventh year overall as a head coach...McAlpine is 16-6-3 in Pullman and 56-54-14 overall…led Cougars to NCAA First Round in 2012, Washington State’s fourth postseason appearance in the last-five years.

WASHINGTON STATE RECEIVING VOTES

Cougars are receiving votes in the NSCAA poll for the third-straight week.

HOT START

The Cougars are undefeated through five matches (4-0-1) for the third time in school history…Washington State won its first-five matches in 2002 and was 4-0-1 in 2007.

STINGY DEFENSE

Washington State is 10th nationally with a 0.19 goals against average…Cougars have not given up a goal in the last 349:35...lone goal scored against Washington State this season came on a penalty kick in the 21st minute of the season opener at Seattle.

LAST WEEK

Washington State tied Boise State 0-0 and defeated Weber State 1-0 in Boise, Idaho…against the Broncos, start of the match was delayed 30 minutes and the match was stopped again 15 minutes in for another half hour due to lightning…match was played on a very wet field and ended in the darkness…Nicole Setterlund provided the game-winner against the Wildcats on an assist from Micaela Castain.

SERIES AGAINST UNLV

The Cougars and Rebels have split four matches…home team has won each meeting…Washington State captured 4-0 (2000) and 2-1 (2006) victories with UNLV winning 1-0 in 2001 and 2007…Jen Klein, a current Cougar assistant coach, was an assistant in Las Vegas (2007-09) and the Rebels’ head coach (2010-11).

ABOUT THE REBELS

UNLV is 4-1-1, including 2-1-1 on the road…Rebels are unbeaten in their last-four matches…lost on the road to UC Irvine, a team Washington State will play on the road next week…Jenn Wolfe leads the team with four goals and nine points.
