PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State Head Tennis Coach Lisa Hart has been named the 2012 United State Professional Tennis Association/Pacific Northwest Division College Coach of the Year, it was announced recently.

This past season Washington State posted a 14-12 record while finishing eighth in the Pac-12 Conference. In December, 2012, Hart was also named the 2012 Pacific Northwest USTA/ITA Campus QuickStart Provider of the Year, which recognizes college coaches who have promoted the 10-and-Under tennis format for elementary school children by hosting QuickStart programs on campus.

Guided by Hart, the 2012 Cougars reached the second round of the 2012 NCAA Championship, falling to eventual champion Florida in Gainesville. Washington State posted a 19-7 overall record, matching the school record for single-season victories, en route to a fifth-place Pac-12 Conference finish, the highest in school history.
