Attended Fremont High and was coached by Matthew Walker...earned three varsity letters in football and four in basketball...an outstanding athlete who received Div. I scholarship offers in both sports...FRESHMAN basketball season named defensive player of the year and freshman of the year...during SOPHOMORE year named to the All-Oakland Athletic League team...selected to the All-California sophomore team, named All-State in basketball as a post player...as a JUNIOR named to the All-State Junior team...also earned all-league honors in basketball...SENIOR year a Super Prep Magazine All-American and a member of their All-Far West (18) team...also a National Recruiting Center National 100 honoree (63) and a The Sporting News Top 101 pick (92)...the number three TE on the Tacoma News Tribune’s Western 100 team…MVP of FHS’s state champion basketball team that defeated Mater Dei in the title game.

FRESHMAN (1999-00): V-letter... Games - 12…Starts - 0…played in all 12 games as the number three tight end...often used in two-tight end lineup...caught one pass, an eight-yard scoring toss from Paul Mencke against Oregon.

SOPHOMORE (2000-01): V-letter… Games - 11…Starts - 0…played in all 11 games as a backup tight end…caught one pass, a 29-yarder for a touchdown from Jason Gesser at Utah…joined the WSU basketball team for a portion of the season.

JUNIOR (2001-02): Was not a member of the Cougar football team…returned in the spring as a walk-on.
