Transferred to Youngstown Ursuline High as a junior where he played quarterback for head coach Jim Vivo...also played basketball...FRESHMAN year attended Mathews High...Youngstown Vindicators pre-season most promising athlete...SOPHOMORE year earned first team all-league...threw nine touchdown passes and over 2,000 yards...Trumbull County honorable mention...JUNIOR season transferred to Youngstown Ursuline...threw for 1,600 yards and five touchdowns...rushed for 500 yards and 11 touchdowns...first team Steel Valley Conference...Ohio honorable mention...SENIOR year threw for 2,300 yards, rushed for nearly 500 yards and completed 60 percent of his passes...led team to 14-1 record and Division IV State Championship...threw for 25 touchdowns, including 20 in last seven games...first team All-State and conference...Division IV Player of the Year...CBS Sports All-American...nominated to play in Ohio's North-South All-Star game.

FRESHMAN (2002-03): Delayed enrollment until January, 2002...participated in spring drills...earned offensive scout of the week honors leading up to Stanford and Arizona State games.

RS-FRESHMAN (2003-04): V-Letter...Games - 9...Starts - 0...earned the following weekly team awards: Most Disciplined Offense - ASU...saw limited action in the five of the first eight games...as injuries took their toll on starter Matt Kegel, Swogger saw more and more action...in the last four regular season games he hit 35-of-69 passes for 396 yards and one touchdown...best game was a 14-for-20 performance for 207 yards and one TD pass against ASU.

RS-SOPHOMORE (2004-05): V-letter...Games - 6...Starts - 6...locked up the starting spot in fall camp...earned the following weekly team awards: Cougar Claw Offense - New Mexico, Pac-10 Offense - Arizona...threw for 240 yards, three scores and two interceptions in the opener at Arizona...threw 93 straight passes without an interception between the fourth quarter at UNM and the Oregon game...hit 12 of 19 passes for 196 yards against Idaho and four TD passes, all in the first half...threw two fourth quarter TD passes at Arizona as WSU came from behind twice, finally earning a 20-19 win on a 15-yard pass to Jason Hill with 53 seconds to play...threw three TD passes against Oregon as WSU racked up 38 points...against Stanford threw three interceptions and one TD throw, but chalked up[ 257 yards...tests revealed a broken navicular bone in his left foot after the Stanford game...had surgery Oct. 22, with two screws inserted into the bone...missed the remaining five games.
