Attended Chugiak High at Eagle River, where he was a quarterback, defensive end, tight end and punter for coach Bruce Shearer...also played basketball and baseball...SOPHOMORE year was first sophomore to throw for over 1,000 yards...second team all-conference honors...JUNIOR season second team all-conference...basketball first team all-conference...SENIOR year earned first team all-conference honors at tight end and defensive end...second team all-conference as a punter...second team All-State at tight end and defensive end...an honorable mention Northwest Nugget by the Tacoma News Tribune...also selected to the Super Prep Far West team.

FRESHMAN (2001-02): Redshirt season.
RS-FRESHMAN (2002-03): V-Letter...Games - 11...Starts - 5...All-Pac-10 Freshman team selection by The Sporting News...did not play in the opener against Nevada or at Ohio State...moved into the starting spot at right tackle against Stanford and started four straight and five of the last six games...came off the bench against Washington...earned the following weekly team awards: Cougar Claw - MSU; Offensive Lineman - Stanford, Arizona; Big Hit - ASU
RS-SOPHOMORE (2003-04): V-Letter...Games - 13...Starts - 4...CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 second team selection...named to the Pac-10 All-Academic second team...played a backup role against Idaho at both right guard and tackle, but played well at guard and the next week was inserted into the lineup at guard as a replacement for the injured Billy Knotts...started four games until Knotts returned to the lineup.
RS-JUNIOR (2004-05): V-letter...Games - 10...Starts - 0...All-Pacific-10 Conference academic first team...played a backup role at both guard and tackle in every game except Oregon...missed the game against the Ducks because of a sprained arch in his right foot that continued to limit play thereafter..earned the following weekly team awards: None. Special Teams: FG/PAT Center.
PERSONAL: Riley Daniel Fitt-Chappell...born September 23, 1982 in Anchorage, Alaska...parents Steve and Darla Chappell...both parents work as managers...one brother Adam...prep GPA 3.75...plans to pursue an engineering degree at WSU...Michigan State, Arizona, Oregon, Oregon State and BYU were his other schools of preference.
