Attended Ramona High, where he participated in football, basketball and track...earned three letters for football coach John Tyree...had three letters in basketball and four in track...SOPHOMORE year started as a wide receiver, returned kicks and saw some action on defense...a sprinter and ran on spring relay teams in the a JUNIOR earned team MVP honors and was an all-Ivy league running back, rushing for 1,001 yards and 20 touchdowns...repeated team MVP honors during SENIOR year... gained 700 yards and 21 touchdowns (8 receiving and 13 rushing) in a wishbone offense...repeated as all-league running back and was all-county as a return specialist...eight interceptions at the corner position and third on the team in tackles...participated in 110 hurdles in state track meet.


Freshman (1995-96): Did not play football.

RS-Freshman (1996-97): V-letter...played in all 11 games as a backup receiver and a member of several special teams units...third leading receiver on the team with 22 catches for 398 yards...averaged 18.1 yards per game came against SJSU with a career high four catches for 105 yards...caught three passes against Arizona, Oregon State and USC...returned 14 kickoffs for 296 yards a 21.1 average, seventh best in the Pac-10...only touchdown reception came against USC...earned four team awards: Special Teams Big Play - Colorado; Big Hit - Oregon State; Specialist of the Week - Oregon State; Most Disciplined Offense - Stanford.

RS-Sophomore (1997-98): V-letter...started three games and played in all 12...caught 22 passes for 570 yards...25.9 yards per catch was best on the team...six game came against UCLA, hauling in five passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns...three catches for 85 yards and one touchdown against Arizona...returned 10 kickoffs for 176 yards...longest return was for 30 a member of special teams recorded five total tackles and blocked a kick...received the following team awards: Offensive Back- UCLA; Most Disciplined Offense - Oregon; Special Teams Big Play - California.

RS-Junior (1998-99): V-letter...played in 10 games, starting nine...missed the Oregon game with a strained calf muscle...second on the team with 45 catches for a team-leading 847 yards and eight touchdowns, also tops among Cougar receivers...caught a career-high eight passes against Idaho for 254 yards, just one yard off the school record...also caught three scoring passes against the Vandals, equaling the school record...included was a school record 97-yard reception from Steve Birnbaum...caught seven passes for 168 yards against ASU, including two TD receptions...caught five passes in each of WSU's final three games, at Arizona and Stanford and against Washington...also returned five punts for 59 yards early in the season and had five kickoff returns for 47 yards...ranked 31st nationally and fifth in the Pac-10, averaging 84.7 yards per game...he had three performances that topped all Pac-10 players - 254 receiving yards, three touchdown receptions and a 97-yard pass play...earned the following game awards: Pac-10 Offense - Idaho; Offensive Back - Idaho, ASU; Big Play Offense - Idaho.

RS-Senior (1999-00): Elected co-captain by his teammates...graduated in May, 1999, and thus allowed by NCAA to compete a fourth season...enters final year with 89 career receptions for 1,820 yards and 15 touchdowns...he needs 18 receptions to make WSU's Top 10 list...his 1,820 career yards ranks seventh and his 15 touchdowns ranks sixth on Cougar career lists.
