RS-FRESHMAN (1996-97): Enrolled in August...had four starts and 12 relief appearances in his 16 trips to the mound...finished with a 1-3 record and a 12.74 ERA...walked 44 and struck out 22...pitched best on the road with a 9.99 ERA...best performances came in back-to-back games against Gonzaga when he allowed just one hit and no runs in 4.2 innings...allowed just one run in four innings of relief work against Washington late in the season....monthly pitching totals: February 11.2i/0-2/16.97, March 3.1i/0-0/16.20, April 20.2i/1-0/10.45, May 6.0i/0-1/10.50...pitching against league opponents: OSU 6.1i/0-1/18.47, PSU (DNP), Washington 6.0i/0-0/13.50.
